Sketching and painting the built environment from references leave some opportunity for compositional decisions and artistic licence. Quite different from "en plein air" painting or urban sketching, accurate representation is somewhat easier than when drawing from live observation.
Urban Sketching is about drawing live, on location in cities, towns, or in nature. "En Plein-Air" sketching, not from photos. By the very definition of sketching, the expectation is for the sketch to be rendered quickly and more casually than a painting or detailed drawing.
